Topic: Hate Speech Detection This course will cover recent approaches to abusive language detection / hate speech detection and related issues. The exact topics will be decided based on student interest. The main goal of the course is to introduce students to the research process, from coming up with a project, via running the experiments to publishing the results. Thus, students will carry out a research project in groups. Another goal is for students to acquire the skills necessary to write a successful research paper. To practice the latter, we will analyze research papers not only for their content but also for their structure, and we will practice writing parts of papers.
