LING-L 501 INTRODUCTION TO RESEARCH METHODS (2 CR.)
Overview of skills and techniques for conducting research in linguistics. Topics include developing a research question, selecting appropriate methodologies and analyses, best practices in data management, responsible conduct of research, and discipline-specific writing conventions. Requires observation of faculty research presentations, presentation of a research proposal, attendance at four colloquia.
