Lecture (LEC)
Advanced Phonetics is intended to provide a foundation for students who have had basic training in phonetics to pursue the quantitative study of phonology in the context of human interaction, and of speech and perception in the context of language. This course will be structured around the development of your own independent experimental research into a topic of your choice, and will step through all of the many things you need to think through in developing such a project which empirically probes peoples language activity. Prerequisite: background in phonetics equivalent to an introductory course.
