Greetings from the Department of Linguistics! We’ve been taking a bit of extra time organizing the 2022 newsletter, as we are moving into a digital format and hoping to build a system to make communicating the story of the department more well-rounded and regular. So, we are a few months later than normal.
The linguistics department is excited to introduce our newest faculty member, Dr. Emily Hanink. Dr. Hanink joined our faculty from The University of Manchester in Manchester, England, where she completed her postdoctoral. Before that, Dr. Hanink attended the University of Chicago and spent a year in Berlin, Germany to finish off her PhD.
When you give to your alma mater, it shows that you understand the value of an education in linguistics. You understand that we're preparing our students for successful, meaningful lives. And you understand that you’re investing not only in our students and their futures, but also in the continued excellence of the department.
